CEDCOW is part of real systematic change led by local people, building solid foundations for future prosperity
We are truly African organisations that believe in inclusive development, community based development, partnership, and gender and disability inclusion. These four pillars of empowerment is at the heart of all CEDCOW activities and constitute the CEDCOW sustainability model
This model is a time tested approach of working with different stakeholders and bringing about lasting improvements. By using these 4 approaches, we have often than not contribute to enduring and sustainable changes in all our work
Following years of continuous review and appraisal of our work, CEDCOW adopted this sustainability model to guides our operations, with more focus on:- Partnership, Community based intervention, Gender and Disability Inclusion, Known as (PCGDI and the results have been a long term sustainable change in all aspects of our work.
Community based interventions
Our effectiveness in community based intervention emanates from valuable consultation, learning from the people, understanding different view, culture and believes, listening to women and disadvantaged groups and individual actors in the society. We develop relationship and trust with beneficiaries of the projects, which help towards viable solution to their problems
We promote changes base on research, consultation, understanding and empowerment. We do not impose suggestions nor solutions, we help people and communities to identify issues, express them and propose solutions and alternatives.
Gender inclusion
Gender rights and inclusion is at the core of our work and empowerment of women is essential for any meaningful and durable change. We consider gender inclusion, a vital tool for effective changes in the wellbeing of the society given that women today are leading actors in many development initiatives.
Disability inclusion
Including disabled people in all our activities is vital to bridge poverty gap and promote equality for all. Meaningful and sustainable improvement cannot be successfully unless everyone is taken on-board. Disabled people and their families suffer disproportionately in all aspects of life in Cameroon.
Through our PCGD model we continue to make remarkable progress in all aspects of our work and generate great change and impacts from small projects and interventions as well as increased value for money in all our projects
