The Global Community Links programme

The essence of this project is to train, support and empower CEDCOW staff, partners and affiliated organisations through exchange visits, mentoring and networking. This project falls under our capacity building and advocacy programmes. Partly funded by DFID and the British Council the projects will enable CEDCOW to train staff and partner organisations and to strengthen relationships between CEDCOW partner organisations, funders and stakeholders in the UK and its branches and link organisations in Gambia, Sierra Leone and Cameroon.
The project will fund exchange visit to enable CEDCOW staff and partners to visit the UK and take part in a series of activities with UK link members, attend training and volunteering oppotunities for link organisations, participate in fundraising activities for projects in their respective countries, attend meetings and events to raise awareness about international development, attend charity events to promote MDGs especially poverty alleviation in Africa, and organise media interviews to promote the work of DFID or its partner organisations. The programme will also help CEDCOW affiliated NGOs in Africa to create and strengthen sustainable relationships with UK development organisations.

This project is in its first phase of implementation with an exchange visit from Gambia.
